BRP announced this week they have acquired Alumacraft Boat, the premier, private North American manufacturer of aluminum fishing boats, based in St. Peter, MN.
Headquartered in Valcourt, Quebec, Canada, Bombardier Recreation Products (BRP) has a large portfolio of industry-leading products, including Ski-Doo snowmobiles, Sea-Doo watercraft, Can-Am, on and off-road vehicles, Evinrude and Rotax marine propulsion systems and more.
This acquisition is the formal launch of a new Marine Group that will allow BRP to leverage the strength and reputation of its two iconic marine industry players; Alumacraft’s extensive boating know-how bringing exceptional boating experiences to its customers since 1946 and Evinrude’s superior value and quality for over 110 years.
Alumacraft is known as one of the first companies to build aluminum boats for fishing and recreation with a truly innovative design for the times. Over the past 70 years, Alumacraft has proved itself to be a huge presence in the fishing world. It is a boat – or canoes – that needs virtually no hull maintenance and thus carries the reputation of staying in the family for generations.
The goal of this product addition is to truly transform the industry and do for the marine business what BRP has already done for the power sports business. Providing high quality, innovative boats and engines that help families create unforgettable memories on the water. Ultimately, becoming one of North America’s leading marine companies.
The FFUN Motor Group carries BRP distribution rights in two locations in Saskatchewan, FFUN Motor Sports Saskatoon and FFUN Motor Sports Yorkton. Our landscape and abundance of lakes in this province aligns tremendously with the Alumacraft Boat product line and we’re excited to be able to provide this new offering to our customers in the near future. Stay tuned for availability.
