Want to place a Demon order? You’ll have to sign this in front of a notary first
The Mopar junkies at Allpar managed to get their hands on FCA’s release form for future owners of the 2018 Dodge Challenger SRT Demon, the newest 840-hp affront to decency. The form contains some conditions Demon owners must agree to before they start doing burnouts in a mall parking lot at 3 a.m. One interesting part of the form to note is that Fiat-Chrysler does not want owners to use Demon’s Nitto NT05R drag tires on the street. While Demon buyers will no longer be able to re-enact their favorite scenes from “2 Fast 2 Furious” on the interstate, the drag tires are barely usable for anything other than drag racing.
In fact, a lot of the conditions on the form relate to the specially made drag tires. Dodge wants owners to care for those tires like they are the owner’s children. Buyers need to sign that they will not use their tires when it is raining or even MOVE their Demon when it is cold out. In addition to agreeing that they won’t drag race directly into a lake, owners need to affirm that they will not install passenger seats in their Demon if they chose to delete the seats at ordering, the implication being that whatever seats the owner haphazardly duct-tapes into place will not adequately protect passengers in the event of any crashes while stealing copper pipes from a construction site.
You can read the whole form below, and note that if you’re looking for a B5 Blue, Plum Crazy, Indigo Blue or F8 Green Challenger Demon, you’ll be waiting until at least early next year.
